Yeah, it definitely seemed like Kyle felt he wasn't going to be starting regardless of who was on the roster with him. There didn't seem to be any love lost between the two of them, which is a shame, because if Padron had continued to develop, he could have been a very competent ball tosser for us this year, regardless of whether Gilbert pans out.
With regard to Gilbert, I'm fairly confident that he'll start. At first I was hesitant, because of how complicated the system is reported to be. But then on the other hand, Jones has shown no hesitation with starting true freshmen out there, so I can't imagine he'll be slow to put a transfer Junior on the field.

Jones gave Kyle every opportunity to be successful but Kyle let Jones down and made him look bad. Kyle had most all the tools but he is still missing brain speed and decision making. I wish him the best but look forward to an aggressive and confident Gilbert.
It seems to me with Zach Line and a mobile Gilbert the passing game opens up big time and we average forty points a game.
