Burger wars, re-visitedModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Burger wars, re-visitedSooo.... for someone who doesn't want to go through 140 pages of awesomeness, how could this thread be summarized? What places do I need to try? I've had the following which I consider to be good burgers:
- Twisted Root - Burger House -1st and 10 - Whataburger/In-N-Out I've had others, but that's all I could muster up right now hahaha. Any other good places near campus?
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedUptown bar & grill; grape
Re: Burger wars, re-visited
I'm not taking the time to read back through all of the pages, either. However, I have had a lot of fun keeping tabs on this thread. If I remember right, I don't think fast food was allowed on the original rankings, which eliminates In-and-Out, and the desire for tasty food should eliminate Whataburger from everyone's list, anyway. Also, someone can correct me on this, but didn't this thread start before Twisted Root even existed? Anyway, my rankings would be: 1. Twisted Root 2. Jake's 3. Snookie's (Uptown location ... North Dallas location tastes different) 4. Uptown Bar & Grill 5. Maac's Grill (in Valley Ranch) 6. Addison Point 7. Angry Dog 8. Uptown Pub 9. Liberty Burger 10. Fuddrucker's "What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"

Re: Burger wars, re-visitedYep, this thread started before twisted root, before the demise of tipperary inn, and when (I think) there was still a ball's in snider plaza
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedAh, the Tipperary Inn. Most food there was marginal, but the burger was pretty solid.
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedi find the burgers at burger house to be subpar other than the chili cheeseburger.
twisted root is average. great toppings and stuff, but the meat is always average at best to me. i like the works at jake's, and the angry dog does have a great burger. my top three would be 1&10, angry dog and jake's. the grape is good, but it's so damn big. got food poisoning at ball's one time about 10 years ago, so i have nothing but bad memories of them. Derail the Frogs!
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedActually, Campisi's on Mockingbird puts together a very good old fashion burger...well chances are it will be a cheeseburger unless you specifically ask for no cheese.

Re: Burger wars, re-visited
AMEN!! Great burger!! GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedMaybe it's nostalgia but I still prefer Burger House and Chips.
Re: Burger wars, re-visited
Oh Gawd I hope not! But it very well could be, I have been stuck in Carolina (and a few other places) for the last 5 years and the only semi decent burger place here is the way over-rated Five Guys. The closest place with good burgers around here is D.C.

Btw. Wanted to try a new burger place this weekend so checked this thread and went to Liberty Burger. Not bad. People lined up at 1 pm to get in.
