Also funny they had Devon Moreland as a key loss, when he was never on campus to lose. Not sure about Middleton slated to start at CB. Didn't hear much of anything from him this spring as it was all about James Richardson's improvement.
Re: Dallas Morning News preview
DMN is aware of the errors and will get them corrected. Thanks.

Re: Dallas Morning News preview
Here is what the text I read says:
2012 outlook: This group should be the strength of SMU's entire team. Reed and Davis are the Ponies' two biggest playmakers on the defensive side of the ball, and Rogers is a solid presence in the middle. The biggest question will be whether Randall Joyner, a natural ILB who shifted outside when Jones got hurt, can hold down the OLB position opposite Davis, or if another player (like Uchenna Nwabuike or Stephon Sanders) can dethrone him during the summer.

Wow, overall, probably the best, most comprehensive preview of SMU football ever done by the DMN.

Re: Dallas Morning News preview
Nice write up.
I continue to be astounded by the lack of news on the development of Christian Holloway and KC Nlemchi. I thought they were studs, but I haven't seen much written about them other than Holloway is young with not much football under his belt and that Nlemchi can't block. I guess I'll be patient but I thought they would AT LEAST get some mentions (and that Holloway would be competing for a starting job this summer).

There is a reason for the declining circulation of the daily newspapers and it is not just the internet.,...the old days of learned journalists coming out of college eager to learn the craft and provide intelligent insight is no more. It is not just the DMN.
Re: Dallas Morning News preview
And I might add that the subscriptions for Houston Chronicle is nearly twice that of the DMN last year. They used to be very close to the same.
Re: Dallas Morning News preview
Do they really ask if Joyner can hold off Sanders?
I'm a big Joyner fan, but I'd be shocked if Sanders doesn't start and play all three downs on the outside.
Based on the Moreland mention, among other things, I assume that was not written by Kate Hairopoulos. Sounds like it was written by someone who has never seen the team play.

Aside from 1 of the safety spots, I would think there aren't any questions regarding who the starters on defense are.

Re: Dallas Morning News preview
At least they devoted a thorough review. May not be accurate at this point but there will be more complete info after August camp starts. I will be more interested in their assessment then than anything now.
And we do know that we have some positions with a bit of unknown at this point.
