Bad call for sure but 16 probably prevents him from registering as a child sex offender. Sounds like it was at a party which means lots of potential witnesses. Good for whoever is telling the truth.

I don't think it was a party. I think it was five guys and a couple of underage girls. Bad choices were made all around here.

Our society would be a lot better off if we sat back and waited for the facts come out before concluding what happened-and that lessons needs to be learned on the left and the right.

Stallion is right. Back in the day when I was a police reporter I came across a case with a 16-yo boy caught in the act with his 15-yo girlfriend, who was not of age in that state to legally consent. The investigator told me that because of the age of the parties they had to make the arrest, then asked me to hold the story until the grand jury met. The grand jury did not issue a true bill and I'm glad I didn't write the story.

This is not a defense of those arrested, but a request to let this play out in the courts,.

What a horrible story. I just hope that somehow, some way, it's not as bad as it seems.

I'm a bit worried that many of the posts here seem to defend the young men when the article has very few details. Especially after what happened to one of our track team women...

My plea is to withhold judgement until more is learned. I don't want to see a crime go unpunished, but I also don't want to see a 16-yo tagged a sex criminal on the basis of a initial report.

I completely agree but let's remember the girl may be a victim and not necessarily a scorned girl trying to get revenge.
