Re: Orsini Terminated
Personally I think this could be a disaster, but Turner will not suffer because by the time it's apparent it was a huge mistake Turner will be retiring. The new guy will be on a honeymoon for a year or two....so Turner will skate. I hope I am wrong and we get an aggressive hard nosed win baby win athletic director, but I'm not holding my breath. Like somebody said we've got no choice but to move on and support our team.

Scholarships a yearly. If they are no longer capable if performing a special service to the university, they become a NORMAL STUDENT. If you can't keep your grades up as classes get harder and you are in academic scholarship, your scholarship gets cut.
Being an athlete doesn't entitle you to free college. Stop the hero worship. They can go get a scholarship in a lower program where they should be anyway.

could this action today relate to anything that happened at the basketball event last night? and, does A&M's search have anything to do with this?i have no inside information ,...and am shocked...
Re: Orsini Terminated
Turner likes the idea of top flight athletics. He would love our basketball program to be like Duke's and our football program like Stanford's. He just does not like what it would take to get there. This is a real bummer. Orsini knew what it took to get there and had us on our way, this is going to take us back closer to the A. Kenneth Pye years.

agree completely.
I am sick of people standing up for Turner - dude obviously wanted to put athletic dept in it's place with this move. Completely unprofessional and he looks like a jealous little teenage girl. Athletics getting too much attention, so lets fire the AD.
Orsini was the ONLY one that would stand up for athletics. Guarantee we get a TURNER YES MAN

Didn't Orsini sign an extension? So Prez Turner is going to cost us a million or more by firing Orsini. Why can't we get rid of Prez Turner and keep Orsini? Orsini has our football program winning again, got us into the Big East, and just hired a legendary basketball coach. Prez Turner is an ego-maniac that played a large part in June wanting to leave for Arizona State. Turner is trouble no matter how much his innocent demeanor tries to hide it.
I am worried about everything SMU

you're assuming that he wasn't fired for cause. if he was, he's not going to be due a penny most likely.
