Why?

And hope this doesn't make our current B-ball coach nervous.

LB may have initiated the move.... Anyway, I doubt that Larry Brown is "nervous".

It was reported on other site that it MIGHT have something to do with the way the b-ball transfers were brought in and handled. If that is the case, if SO promised LB things that SMU is not willing to give him, with LB's track record, he won't stand for it and has no problem moving on. I do not think this is the case, and I'll rephrase, it makes me nervous.

Hopefully LB and the boosters were aware of this before it happened and agree.

What would the process be for firing Turner, and who would pull the trigger?

settle down - big wigs knew what was going on. LB and June also knew. it is not related to basketball recruits - everyone is aware of what you have to do to win (inside the rules) and not nieve about it.

Oh here we go again-why don't you wait to find out what the hell we are talking about before we lite the torches. An AD is not fired in this type of situation for a simple disagreement on the direction of the program. They would have worked out a mutually ageeable financial package and announced that he was leaving the program-just like A&M did.

And it would be hard to see this happening just to stifle athletics with how much money boosters are paying. They had to sign off.

Name one power broker at SMU that is pushing back AGAINST athletics-its not an athletic/academic power struggle. We aren't going back to Ken Pye unless they were running another slush fund. It some concrete allegation involving Orsini's performance

You are right, there is no power vacuum like the one at the time of the DP when the anti-Division One crowd (many of whom were also anti-greek) stormed the walls. Well, the walls were down so they didn't actually have to storm anything. They just stepped right in the front door.

yeah Pye didn't hire an AD for an entire year which was purposefully done to create that power vacuum.

Fire Turner, the man who has completely transformed this university under his leadership? Are you crazy!! Orsini's firing is a shocking development, but I completely trust that President Turner knows what he is doing.
