Interesting. Got any other non SMU news? I love to read about teams other than SMU.

Interesting. Care to point out where you made this same remark when everyone was talking about Dickerson's relation committing to UT? The fact that it is AR's cousin makes it SMU related to me.
Stallion gives you folks some much ammo to gripe about, why do you feel it necessary to criticize every word he says?

I'm with mrydel. It's AR's cousin, so it's SMU related. Plus it's a guy we recruited. Completely SMU related.

Agreed, and from a high school that SMU has offered a number of players this year.

he does list SMU as having offered, so it's news because at least we are offering and not just immediately assuming top players have no interest in us

It is ponyboy and others 'Hunky-Dory' thinking that will likely get us left behind in the next round of re-alignment.
Guess you are also OK with JJ's recruiting class as well. I am not, it is a disaster so far, much like last years' class.
And I love the retort, ' let's wait till signing date to draw any conclusions' as if SMU has stolen even 5 players of any significance from other schools over the past 25 years.

I don't understand why a top rated WR would consider UT over a pass intense offense. He'll go to Texas or some similar school and set on the bench for 2 or 3 years while UT runs the ball up and down the field. And, I'll bet SMU sends more WRs to the pros then UT (I haven't checked that out yet). And, that's with SMU's 2 and 3 star players vs UT's 5 and 6 star players. Perhaps when our season gets going we'll have some great wins and offensive numbers and we will get some commitments that SMU supporters might appreciate. That being said, if I were a high school player, I would try to go to a school where the alum appreciated the system. Of course the Texas fans and alum do appreciate their program. We however have a hard time getting people into a 35,000 seat stadium and the recruits are considered 'disappointing.' Perhaps if we can get into 3 or 4 more bowl games in a row and ten or fifteen more players into the NFL people will start looking forward to watching SMU play. I know the vast majority on this board blame JJ. But it looks like JJ is doing his part as SMU has given out tons of offers (like Rashad), put up a good w/l record, gone to three bowl games in three years and is now moved into a new conference that will bring in new revenue and much better publicity. I'm just thinking out loud. And, I admit, I don't get it.

You're right guys. I am wrong. Thanks for setting me straight. For what it's worth, I am very much in the Stsllion camp 99% of the time.
I don't understand why a top rated WR would consider UT over a pass intense offense.
Sure, no question it might be better for the young man to go here as a WR, and yet the bottom line is UT has always had the pick of who they wanted. Even if a recruit really thought it out and realized his best option might be SMU, the problem would be almost every high school teammate, friend, etc. would tell him " he would be crazy " to go to SMU over UT. So that is why, despite UT having great recruiting classes every year, you have so many players transfer out of there. Only so many can play, and a lot of guys end up realizing they would have done better at another place. Unfortunately, many of these good athletes end up at small colleges with poor coaching or just quit. Bottom line is many might of made it to the NFL, but their talent was never developed.

That would be a 5-star athlete who chooses SMU. They are very rare

Charleston Pony - you are right. I got carried away...hadn't seen one sense about the time of Michael Carter. Nonetheless, if there were any 6 stars they would go to UT, sit on the bench until their senior year and watch our 2 and 3 star players play on Sunday in the NFL.

This guy was the best receiver for Skyline last year as a junior. I don't think he is 6 ft or 170. We really need to get someone from Skyline on our staff. This school keeps producing more D1 athletes than any other.
