Any word on Gilbert? I've got ground forces trying to capture a school of education graduation pamphlet this weekend.

Welcome to SMU, Garrett ! I personally hope you have a great time playing here and think you will do well in this offense. You've got some good receivers to work with, and I think you will like working with Coach Morrison and Coach Phillips. Best of Luck..

Hopefully he'll start learning the play book tomorrow. June has always said it takes several years to learn his offense and GG has 3 months......

The best producers he's had in his system have been thrown into it without knowing the plays and succeeded aka broke national passing records

Big yikes there since Gilbert had a year as backup to learn the offense at Texas and was still awful when he took over as starter. Didn't display much in the way of QB aptitude, looked better running with the ball than he did passing it.

I think Greg Davis was a lot of the problem, we will see. I hope GG lights it up this season.

The offensive line was a big reason for GG's issues as well as the continued struggled of McCoy and Ash last season.

Gilbert will be the best Quarterback to come through here in a long time regardless of his situation at Texas. There is nowhere to go but up with him. Bo Levi and Padron were sub par and jj was less than average after the tcu game last year. It appears that June Jones is confident in his ability to be successful and fix the offense that was clearly broken for much of the later half of the season last year.

Let's just hope he hasn't jumped from the proverbial frying pan to the fire. Will be interesting to see the OL play this year
