Nate Halverson commits to SMU

Acker is a good CUSA corner. I do not know how he would fair in a BCS conference week in and week out (and neither do you). Just because you start at SMU does not make you a high caliber BCS player. We just have to see how things pan out once he gets here and we hit the Big East.

Acker was one of the most improved players last year, and he was just a sophomore (who didn't redshirt, I believe). If Halverson is anything like Acker, I'll take guys like that any day. Congratulations and welcome, Nate!

Acker is a good player for SMU for sure. It will be interesting to see what he does against Baylor, ATM, and TCU in the first 4 weeks of the season. I think Halverson could be a starter for us.

He has very long arms, very wide shoulders and will fill out in college. He is fast and is competing in the 4 x 100, 200 and 400 in the Class 6A Oregon Track finals. Another steal recruit and may be better than Acker at the same stage.

Nate Halverson of Grant (@Raw_Talent22) just won the 6a boys 400m (49.59). He recently committed to SMU for football #opreps #ponyexpress

Nate also ran the 200 in 22.68 yesterday and ended up 6th in the State Finals.

The 400 is a brutal run, worse than anything but the 800. Winning a state title in that event is awesome!
