Jessie Scroggins to Transfer from USC

Highly rated QB out of high school. June Jones was one of the first to offer him out of high school and he was considering SMU until his recruitment blew up and he was getting offerred from the likes of USC. Had some injuries and academic problems at USC which moved him down the depth chart. Cetainly worth a look.

To avoid sitting out a season he'll play at a JC this fall then sign with a FBS team in February. Competition for him will be stiff. We have no shot, not that June would pursue him anyway as he hasn't went hard after a JC QB since Kevin Craft in 2008.

If Gilbert works out, don't see why we would be chasing after him or why he would want to come here knowing he would ride the bench a season.

Because Gilbert may not work out. We look into this IMO.

Do you know what JC he will be attending?

Hasn't made a final decision but I've read in several places that El Camino is the most likely choice.

when is the last time we had a qb go the whole season without injury?

If the guy has two years after the next year - why wouldnt he consider us? - anywhere he goes there will be competition.

Didn't say he wouldn't consider us (for about 5 seconds like last time), just that we have no shot of signing him. June's track record going up against big time programs is abysmal.

Scroggins is not concerned about competition at his next school, or he wouldn't have gone to USC. He liked our coaches in high school. So I don't see why he wouldn't be interested in SMU. Remember, June got Garrett Gilbert.
