"But you have to wonder if his disastrous flirtation with Arizona State is having a negative effect and has altered the way kids are viewing the program.
All speculation aside, it is imperative for SMU to add major talent in the second half of this recruiting period in order to make a successful transition to a BCS conference. The pieces are in place, the under the radar prospects have committed, but now it’s up to the coaching staff to land some top tier talent."

Re: C/O 2013
We actually have a huge opportunity to impress recruits with the A$M game and the TCU game. Sell out with more SMU fans there providing an electric atmosphere would do more to help Jones recruit than anything else we could do. We have 7 home games and need to do the most to make it appear that SMU has great fan support and playing at SMU is an exciting place. Kids love that kind of atmosphere and we are the ones that can provide it.

Two of those games will have an electric atmosphere but it won't be because of SMU fans, we'll see the real support of SMU fans in the games against SFA, Houston, Memphis, USM and Tulsa. Get those games filled (would take an act of God) and then we'll have something. Honestly there are few FBS programs we can compete with in terms of gameday atmosphere.

I have never understood why Texas Football doesn't stick a message board on that site and become the go-to site for fans wanting to follow all Texas schools and high schools for that matter. There is wasted value in that website. They have a recruiting service run by an actual former UT recruiting coordinator and I haven't heard of a person who subscribes. The message board would supplement the Recruiting service. They already got the guys covering College and High School Football writing for the Summer Edition. Somebody ought to buy that site and make a "MILLION DOLLARS."Is E.J. working full time with them now?

Re: C/O 2013
not so sure about that sb - our last home TCU game we were well over 2/3 of the crowd and we were also much louder. we can rally when need be - we just dont do it for no reason.
Re: C/O 2013
I would be willing to bet we are over 50% of the crowd at those 2 games, especially if we beat Baylor.

our 20 + years of ineptitude trained them to become pessimistic losers instead of optimistic winners. they will eventually come around.

Yep, EJ works full-time for the DMN and part-time for Dave Campbell as well as part-time for the Dallas Cowboys.

I'm on the side of whatever gets this program to be relevant nationally. A new coaching staff would be a hell of a start.
