Texas A&M and SMU predictions thread

Post by smucarolina »

Anyone feel like we have a chance? Opinions and thoughts? Love to have some discussion about the game.

Also, is this already sold out? Looking to buy tickets and fly in from South Carolina to catch it.

I'll make a prediction, when PF.com reports on Gilbert's progress, the offensive line, the WR rotation, the secondary, the ........ everything.

Way too early for this!

I predict that we could easily win this game by distracting Aggie players, coaches, and fans by posting a herd of sheep in the endzone.

I’m a home boy, so my love and support is always with SMU. Although, I think we come up short on this one. I believe it will be a competitive game for 4qtrs …. No moral victories. We get beat by a better team, but we make a game of it. Why … I’ll toss out a few thoughts
1) New offensive and defensive schemes for the Aggies … 3rd game of the year, so they will still be getting their feet under them
2) Tanahill and other key components are gone … so this kind of neutralizes GG being new to the SMU offense. Although, the Aggies (Big and Athletic ) line is back … that’s a huge plus
3) We’re at home, and this is not our first dance with the Aggies now, or the system they will likely roll-out
4) Our "D" is much improved, and I think we bring back more exp, especially at the key LB spot. I think the two "D’s" will trade punches, so I give the edge to A&M for the exp on the "O" side even with a new system.

I do believe the 2012 "Stangs" will make us proud and surprise many

If we turn it over and don't create any turnovers we will get smoked.

I predict this is the one we win (of the "Big 3" games against them, TCU, and Baylor) ... although I like our chances against all 3.

I will wait on the reports of our offensive development over the summer to make a prediction. I like our 1st team D. We've got some positives on offense, but man we sure have a lot of question marks too.

a very good SMU defensive team barely got A&M off the field last year for about 3 quarters. SMU has a nice little CUSA Defense that is physically overmatched against Texas A&M. Not to mention A&M's 8 sacks against a veteran SMU Offensive Line. Physically overmatched there as well. SMU's only real effective play was the finesse running game

That game last year, was over early in the second quarter. We got destroyed in every phase of the game.
