Not to mention A&M's 8 sacks against a veteran SMU Offensive Line. Physically overmatched there as well. SMU's only real effective play was the finesse running game
Then we better get real creative on our game planning then and have our "7 level guys" play more like "9-10 level guys" to quote Bear Bryant. Run blitzes on defense, more west coast style on the offense (short passes, keep clock going, rest our defense) and NO turnovers. If, in fact, we force 1 or 2 we can make the game very competitive.
Since this is sort of a crazy thread anyway given we are so far away from knowing what we really have, I thought I'd throw a crazy prediction out: 1989, in reverse: SMU 63, Aggies 14

I'm with Ponyfan on this one...its way too early to predict. However, I feel good about our D line and O line. DB's good, RB's strong and deep. I think the biggest question is the passing game. If I knew how that will go I could predict how A&M (and all of the other games) will go. If Gilbert and Co. makes it 'rock' this could be an exciting year. So, how about 45 to 42 SMU on a field goal in the last 3 seconds of the game?
There is three seconds to go...the ball is on the four yd line and our kicker is kicking with a 46 m/p/r wind. The ball is snapped, the kick is up...it is BLOCKED at the line...the ball travels wildly up...up...up. The wind catches it and carries it toward the goal posts. The ball hits the left upright and glances toward the Aggie with his sword drawn and pointing upward. Then, the ball slams into the A&M sword deflating both the ball and the Aggie chances to have an undefeated season (which is deflated over and over again during the year). That's my prediction.
