Why is that a deletable offense? I just started on that site but was lucky enough to catch the post when it first happened.

It's been the position of SMUs compliance that SMU fans can't interact with the family of recruits. Never mind the fact that many (most? all?) other BCS schools allow it...
Please refer to PonyPride's reiteration of the NCAA guidelines as set forth by the SMU Compliance Office which is permanently posted and maintained at the top of the "recruiting" heading on this board.

This offense is going to be very interesting considering the mix of proven talent with the team like Johnson, proven talent on other teams like GG, our main star coming back from an injury and now a late infusion of talent in possibly our weakest link. We may have more raw talent on offense than anyone in the conference along with the most ecclectic mix of players in the country.

Seems like quite a "Mom" whose son was not happy with the social life (drinking and such) and the fact LSU wanted to put him into a major that would ensure he would have plenty of time for football and make it to practice, etc. He did not want the "jock" major communications everyone was put into. Seems like someone should look into this, but they won't...Anyway no one got ahead of him on the depth chart, he just has different values than the LSU program has.
He did not play at all last year, but the family invested in a first class, professional trainer and the kid is supposed to be in great shape. Moms never lie!
He sounds a little like "Beach", but taller and larger.
Thanks, Mexmustang.

I am still not certain what the hubrah is about concerning his mother posting on a recruiting site. He is an upperclassman, a transfer and begins school within days. I assume (or it may only be imminent) that he has signed with SMU and has applied for admission, etc. Am I wrong?

Since there is really no national letter of intent for a transfer to sign I think it would have been okay if he had been enrolled and attending classes.

Does the include the SMU "fans" who post on this board but who obviously are in love with UT?

I wish that SOB had been in school when I was...there was no room for UT hats, t-shirts or fans. He would have had his voice raised at least two octavs by very loyal Mustangs!

Oh, but I have. I have had four children in 10 years go through SMU and Cox, plus two MBA's and one MA in Accounting, and I had to threaten my daughter to burn her UT hat or get her allowance cancelled. Can you imagine a Pi Phi without money? The last one graduated just three weeks ago--too late to save my retirement nest egg.

A fraternity "brother" from Arkansas, started cheering for Arkansas during one of the epic SMU/Arkansas basketball games during the early 80's, in Moody. He was told to stop or face bodily harm. He wisely stopped, problem solved.

It is a shame we lost 25 years of school spirit. I would love to be able to see the correlation between alumi giving and success in sports in their undergraduate years. In fact some of our greatest donors were former athletes.
