Rivals Rankings

Postby LakeHighlandsPony » Thu Feb 03, 2005 8:52 am

Is this class really the 80th best class? Where should this class really be ranked. I understand the points system but we are all alone in the bottom quarter with 6 -3star players. Thoughts??

I am not a big Rivals follower but I think you can get a little better perspective if you look at the rankings by position rather than overall. We have much better rankings under OL and LB and DB than our overall ranking. LB for instance is ranked 41. Our WR ranking is last, and yes, while we need a better stable of WRs, our primary needs were OL and LB and DB. TE is a very high number also, and I can understand with our current class of TEs we did not need to stress this area.

Our overall of 80 is not unexpected with the season(s) we have had leading up to this year but I still think Bennett is doing as good of a job as can be expected with his restrictions (which are being loosened somewhat) and by filling the needs that need immediate addressing. Hopefully now that he is playing with his own players we will be able to see if he can coach at a level that will obtain the maximum from the recruits. Building a strong OL will hopefully start to attract the higher level running backs, better RBs attract more good linemen, etc.
