So if we were at 1500, that puts us at 2250.

Isn't Moody's capacity just under 9k - 8,900-ish?

My understand is that the new moody will be at 7500ish but I could be wrong. The current building is around 8900, you are correct.

Do we really have 1500 season ticket holders right now?

Regardless, the season ticket event a couple of weeks ago was well done. It gave the perception that SMU is serious about basketball and that there is a demand for tickets. I also liked the fact that there is a full-time ticket sales team now.

We are serious about basketball. We're Big East. If everything works out, in 5 years we'll probably be a "basketball" school with decent football a la Cincinatti. Good basketball makes so much more sense for a school our size.

Does the 4,500 include some sort of factor for student tickets? I

If not,4,500 STHs + student walk ups = pretty darn full building.

Just because someone has season tickets doesn't mean they'll go to every game. A small arena will create a shortage of tickets for marquee game which will encourage folks to buy season tickets in order to secure the games they want.

My understanding too, though sources close to me suggest closer to 7000 than 7500

Probably like the airlines. Fat asses like me have to buy 2 seats, so 7500 seats may mean 7000 butts in the seats.
