Hard to believe Jones is 24-28 here. Although I've been to or seen most all of the games under his direction, it seems like his record should be much higher. I guess after this year he'll be above .500.

We hope... that would be 9-4 this season

That 1-11 first year takes a hit on the over all record. The record for the last three years is 23-17. Still not as good as I would like to see, but over .500 and includes 3 bowl games, which beats the previous 20 years, so a definite improvement. Would love to see a 10+ win season this year...hope springs eternally. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

First year is a throw-away, implementing a system that many of the players he inherited didn't fit. PK's right -- I wish his record since was better -- but in his last three years, he has a winning record at a place where some said no coach could ever win. I worry that the questions in this year's lineup mean this season might not push his record up much, if at all, but hopefully a big breakthrough season (or seasons) are coming soon.
