Handicapped Parking at Ford??

Post by Digetydog »

Tody, I booked my flight to Dallas to spend time with the family and to finally see a home game a Ford. Should be a great weekend as the Baggies will be showing up.

Plan A : assuming my father isout of the rehab hospital (bad knees) and up for it, I would love to take him to the game. As you might guess, long walks are not in his wheelhouse right now. He has a handicapped parking placard. Is there a reasonable handicapped parking near the stadium?

plain B: I will bring one of my nephews. Would it be better to take the Dart train fom Plano or drive in and find a parking spot?

There's plenty of parking, however it's all reserved. I'd suggest going to the Boulevard and catching one of the golf carts that take handicapped people to Ford. That's what I do. They circle around fairly regularly before the game. Afterwards, they are few and far between, unfortunately.

If you're coming from Plano with your nephews, take DART to Mockingbird Station and a Mustang Express shuttle to the stadium. This would be the less expensive, less of a headache than trying to find parking, which is pretty non-existent.

This was from 2011.

I am so excited about the trip.

1) My oldest nephew is going to be a high school freshman and should be playing in his JV. Will definitely get to watch him play and continue with my plot to recruit him to the Hilltop.

2) I haven't been to a game on campus since the first year back from the Death Penalty in Ownby.

3) The main reason I ended up at SMU was my dad would take me to games at the Cotton Bowl and later Texas Stadium. When I turned down a full ride to attend TAMU b/c I wanted to go to SMU, he never said a word. I really hope that he is up for the game.

4) In 1986, we had 2 losses when the Aggies came to town. Although there were a ton of Aggie fans, Texas Stadium was pretty much full. It was the last "big" home game before David Stanley went on Channel 8. By the time we had another home game (Arkansas), the team had given up and everyone knew the hammer was going to fall.

5) Win or Lose - I can't wait to see the Ponies play again.
