I lke these quite a bit though on another note.... These were Austin Westlake H.S.'s back in 2006... Maybe we can throw some silver in there while we're lookin to add black...

White is our official, undocumented (secret) color. The references to Harvard this and Yale that are getting tiresome. References to SMU Red and SMU Blue would be more appropriate - no matter how the minutes read.

SMU Red and SMU Blue are not definitive colors as they change at the drop of a hat (or hiring of a new coach). Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue were originally selected for a reason...they symbolized SMU's dedication to the same high academic standards of Harvard and Yale. Sorry you find that so tiresome.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

SILVER???
A lot of schools use silver or gray in their uniform scheme even thought it isnt an official school color. At SMU, we have had gray/silver in our uniforms during the Hayden Fry, Dave Smith, and Phil Bennett eras. During the Doak Walker era the pants were a shade of khaki. I am the only one around who actually liked the Dave Smith era uniforms. They were simple, the jerseys were a deep shade of red, and they made us look like a team that was all business and no nonsense. Nothing frilly or metrosexual about those unis.
I don't want to see black uniforms, either, but the fact is that recruits like them and June likes them. So it's likely that at some point, maybe against TCU, maybe later in the season, maybe next year, we'll see black jerseys again. The ones we wore in the Armed Forces Bowl were bad, and Nike will make them far worse. But if you want to stop it, you have to figure out a way to get in front of Rick Hart (who starts August 13). Our bellyaching won't change anything. Of course, as long the Ponies win, they can dress in grey and yellow plaid (I don't know -- I tried to think of the ugliest combination possible), for all I care.

These jersies are a huge improvement from what we've been wearing. Im extremely happy we got rid of the 934871 shoulder stripes. This looks much more simple and clean.
My only concern is why is the number cut off from the top? Is it because of the way it's folded? and the pony looks too close to the number.. again, it could be the way the shirt is folded..
Would love to see the uni on a player in pads to better judge it.

I was referencing his comment about "sticking with our guns" of red, blue and white then suggesting we add a fourth color.
