Re: GET PENN STATE PLAYER HERE!!!There is a 6'7" OT from Katy named Kevin Blanchard who is a freshman and a 6'3" OG from San Antonio named Frank Figueroa.
Neither were rated in rivals as high prospects. ![]()

NCAA loosens transfer rules for Penn State players By Bryan Fischer | College Football and Olympics Blogger July 23, 2012 10:10 am ET 6 | Comments The NCAA's sweeping sanctions leveled against Penn State have an immediate impact on the current roster as of Monday as well. In announcing the crippling four-year bowl ban and numerous scholarships losses, among other things, the association also announced relaxed transfer policies for current Nittany Lions players. Among the notable exceptions current football student-athletes will see: Players will not have to sit out a year if they decide to transfer, they will be eligible immediately at their new school. All incoming class of 2012 signees can be released from their letters of intent. The permission to contact rules regarding current players will be suspended. Penn State can't restrict a player from transferring and all the player has to do is notify Penn State of their intent to transfer. Other schools must simply inform the PSU athletic department of their intention to talk to a transfer as well. All signees and current players may take as many official or unofficial visits as they want during the 2012-13 academic year. Perhaps most interesting is the fact that the NCAA is "considering" waiving scholarship limits for programs to which the football players are transferring to. This would circumvent the limit of 25 signees and 85 total players for the upcoming year.

I hope this is the case.
Re: GET PENN STATE PLAYER HERE!!!I guess we will see how assertive our coaching staff is then.

Re: GET PENN STATE PLAYER HERE!!!I wouldn't mind getting a few of the players, with the loose transfer rules.
Re: GET PENN STATE PLAYER HERE!!!And I wouldn't mind getting a few women with loose morals.
Re: GET PENN STATE PLAYER HERE!!!The scholarship limit has not yet been loosened. The story suggests that the NCAA is CONSIDERING loosening the limit. If it isn't loosened, there's no room. Even if it is, there will be a lot of schools that don't go after those players.
Coaches at schools around the country will identify which players would be a good fit. If they can't get those selected players, whether it's 5 guys or 55 guys, it would be detrimental to go pick up a guy just to say "we got a guy from Penn State." For what it's worth, there are reports circulating that a lot of the Penn State players are insisting that they plan to stick together at Penn State. Of those who do choose to leave, I'd bet the majority of them go to schools on the East Coast.
Re: GET PENN STATE PLAYER HERE!!!You watch - there will not be a mass exodus of players from PSU. They still play in Beaver stadium, have a chance to go to the NFL, and be worshipped by the 'culture' that exists at PSU.
The senior's aren't going anywhere - they have too much invested already, and the season's too close. The juniors much the same thing. The sophmores perhaps, but if anybody leaves it will be someone from this year's freshman class.
Re: GET PENN STATE PLAYER HERE!!!
Any PSU current player can transfer to any school ( including the Big 10 schools; note USC kids could not transfer to a PAC 10 school) and his scholarship will not count against the NCAA 85 scholarship quota for that school. Hence, we are only out of scholarships for PSU kids if we do not have the $$$$$ to bring them into the program.
Re: GET PENN STATE PLAYER HERE!!!
I don't think anyone is saying we should pick up a player "just to say we got a guy from Penn State." I think everyone is saying we need to a player that can come in and give us immediate help. I just wonder if this staff is aggressive enough to get in the mix for a player that can help immediately. ESPN has said the the scholarship will count for next year if needed according to the NCAA ruling. We should at least try, who knows we might get one or two that could help now. #HammerDown
Re: GET PENN STATE PLAYER HERE!!!
That is exactly why the DP was worse because SMU had a mass exodus because they shout down the program for a year. From what it looks like now it does not look like PSU will have a mass exodus. #HammerDown
