I'm not convinced that being pummeled on a weekly basis by the Big Ten teams - and having it televised - is such a great thing...

Kind of like SMU was pummel on a weekly basis by SWC teams. And we don't know how mnay PSU players will transfer. SMU lost 78 out of 80 scholarship players. We will see how many PSU loses. If it is not many then they will be competitive and punishment will be little more than the USC punishment. PSU dodged a bullet.

Future recruits won't find it flattering, either...

The recruits for SMU during the post DP did not find it flattering either. Again we will see how many stay at PSU. Will it only be 2 like SMU? We will see.

Dear SMU: It's official - making illegal payments to players is worse that molesting children. Signed, the NCAA.

Of note, the payment to players in the 80s was not illegal. It was a violation of a voluntary organizations rules (NCAA).

Nobody went to jail or was charged with a crime in the SMU scandal.

Now Pedophile State on the other hand….

Just for clarification purposes the festival name is the Gilmer Yamboree. I was in attendance last October since SMU was at So. Mississippi and discovered sweet potato wine and got hammered as Mel Gibson on an answering machine...really..sure tasted good though.

Thanks for clarifying, as I was pretty drunk on yam shots.

PSU LB Michael Mauti said the core players are staying. Bill O'Brien said that a key positive is that they are still playing on TV.
