just saw JJ said GG is "the guy", guess we don't have to wonder anymore who the QB will be, not that I really doubted GG would be our starter

Did JJ already do his interview? If so, I missed it. They are interviewing UAB right now.

I thought Standard Operating Procedure for June Jones is that all QBs have equal shot in Fall camp. Not a ringing endorsement of backups when a QB who he has never seen perform live, coming off shoulder surgery and with mediocre Division 1A results is handed the job without considering the "nationally scouted" QBs who you recruited

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

JJ sets expectations with his players way before speaking to the media about anything. The only reason this wasn't stated before was because the staff needed to make sure his shoulder would be okay.

This is a no brainer decision. Nobody on campus has experience starting with the offense. GG is the only one with game experience, and is the highest recruited player of the bunch. Makes sense to me.

And yes, I think typically JJ splits reps the first few weeks and then narrows it down, but in this case GG has to get ready for opening day. He will get the majority of snaps from the beginning to make sure he is ready to go.

It's good news that the decision is so clear cut.
