All this DYNASTY talk is making me ill......Mr. Webster defines a DYNASTY as something like maintianing power and dominance over several generations...the Yankess are a dynasty..the Lakers are a dynasty..BUT, to call the Patriots a dynasty is a bit inaccurate from my perspective. Put the word, POTENTIAL dynasty, or MAKINGS OF a dynasty in front of all the superalatives..GREAT TEAM!, no doubt, the best over the last 3-4 years, but NO dynasty..sorry. The Cowboys, on the other hand, now THAT'S a DYNASTY!! Long Live Don Meredith.
Probably was once a dynasty would be a more accurate statement about the Cowboys, much like the SF 49'ers, the Steelers and the Green Bay Packers.
In this century, the only team of the above group that is even playing well is the Steelers.
Which teams won three NFL championships in a row? Let's see Packers, Steelers and the Patriots. Dallas won 3 out of 4 in the '90s. The 49ers and the Redskins kind of shared the 80's and early 90's. Each won three, but not consecutively. Given the parity of the NFL today with salary caps and players switching teams annually, what NE has done is amazing. They've put together a great formula. It will be interesting to see if they can keep it up with all those assistants leaving.
