The same can be said for the death to June Jones crowd out here. People out here on both sides take it very personally and I think in the frustration of having no actual control over the situation we start taking shots at each other which accomplishes nothing. I put myself in the camp of June supporters from the perspective of what he has accomplished as a coach. That said, looking at the efforts of his staff to get Big East ready and looking at LB's efforts to get Big East ready, one has to question June's approach. Despite what ESPN wants folks to believe, the BEAST is a HUGE step up in competition from C-USA, and we need the athletes that can play at that level. June, for whatever his various reasons, just doesn't seem to put the level of effort to try and get those kids' attention.
For those who have a Scout pay account, a kid who played from 94-98 talked about his recruiting experience, and one thing that came through very clearly is that these kids need to feel wanted. There is something to be said for June Jones knocking on your front door and saying "hey, I really want you to come play for me - come check out what we have to offer". It's great that we are no longer where we used to be, but we seem stuck in neutral now which will quickly turn into reverse when we hit a higher competition level without the horses in place to pull the cart. We as fans can't do much more than express our concerns, and I know many on here have done it directly to June and I hope continue to do so (and to Rick Hart to hopefully light a fire). Whining back and forth at each other out here may help some blow off stress, but it serves no other purpose.
