Where did 1987 players transfer?

Post by AustinPerson »

Anyone have a list of where the 1987 SMU players transferred? I would be curious to see where everyone ended up. I obviously know about the UCLA guys and the University of Houston transfers. But not sure about everyone else.

Michael Bowen went to Georgia - and then came back to the Hilltop!

A partial list: Arizona, UCLA, Tulane, Auburn, LSU, Michigan State. Most became starters instantly.

I was wondering that myself. Names would be appreciated, just because I'm interested.

Dave Richards the OL went to UCLA;
Mitch Price the RB went to Tulane, later ran back punt on Monday night football for the Bengals;
JImmy Young the DB/KR went to LSU and I saw him run back punts for LSU when they were beating A & M in college station 17 to 0 or 24 to 0 in late 1980s

Only names can remember off top of my head.

Mark Vincent (CB)transferred to UGA. I bought his custom SMU cowboy boots at a garage sale in Weatherford a few years ago.

Donahue is hoping that the Bruins are getting the Wildcats early enough that maybe all the old Wildcats, the new Wildcats and the new coach are still getting their act together.

The only player in the UCLA defense Watters is likely to be familiar with is outside linebacker Ben Hummel, who also relocated from SMU.

Arizona also has a former Mustang in its offensive line, left guard Kevin McKinney.
