The decision to use black jerseys was based upon the players wishes, they begged for them. He agreed to do so if certain goals were obtained. The players should have some say in the matter--as opposed to someone that doesn't support only criticize. God, I almost wish we had hired that high school coach you wanted just so you would quit this constant complaining.

Let's get this straight pal
I'm supporting SMU wearing school colors-you are supporting SMU wearing Black
I support the SMU's President in his oversight role as part of Institutional Control-you think Turner should "stay the hell out of Football and let June Jones run the program" (See Penn St 2011 and SMU 1986 for how well that turns out)
I support SMU's historical mascot of over 90 years Peruna--you support letting June Jones run two Texas Tech mascots
I fully support-and have for 5 years- the exact competitive academic model that SMU has used-while you and your crazy [deleted] friends keep criticizing this school for completely imaginary lost recruits due to imaginary recruiting obstacles despite about 50-60 examples of SMU letting in low qualifiers
I have been going to ALL SMU Home Games for almost 50 years and I'll be going to Home Games for deacades AFTER June Jones goes back to his beloved Hawaii.
I support SMU, their traditions and heritage-you support June Jones.

While Stallion sits atop his high horse, does anyone know when the new jerseys are coming out? Ridiculous they haven't been released yet.

Charlie Waters! Funny.

I don't like black, but it seems to be the trendy uni now.

No stripes - please.

Let's go ahead and either let Turner call the plays or, in the alternative, make June head coach and university President. Either way will guarantee institutional control.

What a novel idea! I don't like the geldings and I am opposed to black uniforms, but in the scheme of things neither of these issues have anything to do with the apocalypse. Over the years many of our teams have worn khaki, gray, and silver pants and I never heard any one claim that the incorporation of these colors into the uniforms was heresy. I guess the internet just intensifies the noise of those who obsess about incidental matters.

I asked that same question about a week ago to a friend, he is pretty involved with the athletic department, and was told basically, waiting on Nike. You can draw your own conclusions.

I just find it amusing that some of the longest running threads on ponyfans are the ones dealing with what uniform will be worn.

I would understand this if our school put 30k in Ford on Saturdays dressed in red, white or blue (or even black for that matter). That would make our gameday atmosphere much more impressive than it has been throughout our history

Let the kids wear what they want to. Just win, baby

my wife put it best regarding people who complain about uniforms, and reminisce on the "good OLD days". they're losers. why? b/c winners are still in the "good days". winners don't need to worry about trivial crap like what color their pants or shirts are, or what stripes are on their uniforms. they're too busy enjoying the game, winning, and having fun.

The problem around here is everyone has such a loser mentality. we're winning more now than we have in a long time. it's about time you guys all started acting like it and quit this nonsense.

for the record, she's a lifelong husker fan, and everyone i've talked to in nebraska doesn't give a flip about the fact that for ONE GAME, against Wisconsin this season, the huskers are wearing all black unis. no one. most, including generations older than me in their 50's, 60's & even 80's, don't care. as long as they win the game. why? b/c they're winners.

Act as if.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Why is having black as your neutral color instead of white such heresy to so many? Our colors are red and blue with white being the neutral, and once upon a time khaki was the neutral. Big whoop. Gotta change with the times and keep up.

Because NCAA bylaws dictate white for road games
