Pachall Failed Feb. Drug test
As reported by TCU 360.
Shouldn't he be suspended for violation of a team policy/NCAA rule? What am I missing here?

I thought I read he was somewhere?
Either way, there is no requirement to suspend a player for a failed drug test.

Re: Pachall Failed Feb. Drug test
It would be a violation of NCAA rules for TCU not to follow school policy on drugs BUT as shown in that article previously posted on ponyfans that listed the various school policies on drug testing I don't think any school in the NCAA had a policy that called for suspension on the first failed test. So basically you have to follow school rules. Most policies call for progressice punishment but not suspension on first failed test. Surprisingly there is no uniform standard policy and they differ pretty significantly

Patterson won't suspend him. He's not going to help SMU anymore.

[Gary Patterson] has covered all of this up from the public in an effort to protect his football record. He should be punished.

GaPa vs. JoPa
Re: Pachall Failed Feb. Drug test
Saw Patterson's comments on the news last night, and he was saying all sorts of great stuff about watching out for his players and teaching kids about being responsible for their actions. I'll believe that when he suspends Pachall for at least 1 game.

Why? He was disciplined 6 months ago in accordance with TCU and NCAA policy? Kids fail drug tests all the time...it's just typically not public knowledge.
