Yea,use the plethora of receiving talent on this team-you don't bring in 20 plus receivers to play only 4 to 6 a game. I hope not.

It could be that if we have a lot of top flight receivers, we will rotate players more often. But if you backups have the dropsies, don't go all out in practice, or don't have a full grasp of the offense, they aren't going to play.
JasonB, is that what you're seeing at the practices? Guys like Guinyard, Holleman, Deiter, etc not considered top flight receivers yet?

In years past, I think you have the starters at WR (well, really any place on the team) and hope to god that nobody else gets hurt.
Now, we certainly have better depth at the WR position (and everywhere else). That said, while Wade, Fuller, Joseph, deiter, Loftin, Sims, Guinyard, Stewart, and Ace are certainly talented, there is a significant drop-off between them and the starters.
It isn't like we are at the point of having a 1A and 1B at those spots yet.
With some of those guys, it is a matter of consistently running good, hard, crisp routes. With others it is understanding which routes to run. And then others, it is a case of not consistently catching the ball. Athletically, we are 3 deep at every wide receiver position with guys who are talented enough to play; however, for one of those three reasons, the others just aren't quite ready for game time yet.
I don't want to call out the individual players and what the weaknesses are, but they just aren't there yet. Of all of those players, Fuller will have his special packages, I am sure, and then Joseph is probably the next closest. I still think Stewart will get some time before the end of the season.
