New Book on SMU Death Penalty

Post by dbone »

I played on the 1987 Death Penalty Team and just finished a book on what happened from the player's perspective.

eBook has been out for two weeks and physical book just went live today. I think most will be surprised at my revelations.

Book is called...The Pony Trap: Escaping the 1987 SMU Football Death Penalty

Amazon link for paperback: http://amzn.com/0985988304

You can read first few chapters on the kindle site: http://amzn.com/B008O70W0Y

The book is live as of August 15 @ 4pm

Thanks for looking.

i remember reading "A Payroll to Meet" & it was full of inaccuracies & downright lies. The author was a jerk & everything else. I don't even think I finished the $%#@ thing.

As long as it's the 'truth' - it'll sell. Definitely will buy it when the book is released.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Hey - its a fan board where people give their opinion. And in my opinion there is nothing more to say about this subject that has not been said, it is time to look through the windshield instead of the rearview mirror, it is just flat out boring to discuss this any further, and is ancient history.

Thads 30/30 was a detailed look that was interesting. Case closed. We need to quit wallowing in this and move on.

I love Thad, but his version of the story was slanted to sell a film. Yes, it had the feel good ending, but it was slanted and caricatured those involved. Good to get a different view of the situation.

gostangs I thought it was a little harsh to be so abrupt, especially since it was the author posting on here for the first time and its a labor of love from him AND he is a fellow Mustang. I downloaded it and will read it.....should be an interesting viewpoint. Its just a view from him about that time and its not 'wallowing in it'.....lighten up Francis.

Congrats on the book. I will check it out. It will be interesting to get something from the inside. I am surprised more from the players never came out.

If it's written by a player from that era, I'll be interested to read it.

Good luck with the book, dbone.
