Highly rated freshman leaves UH football program
Freshman defensive lineman Donald Hopkins has left the University of Houston football program for personal reasons, coach Tony Levine said Saturday.
The 6-2, 285 pound Hopkins was rated among the top 20 defensive tackles by ESPN.com coming out of Lago Vista High School.
Hopkins was the first UH signee selected to play in the Under Armour All-America Game.

I don't suppose there's a chance Cougar High would let him sign with us, right? Surely his release was limited, wasn't it?
Re: Hopkins leaves Cougar High
I think he wants to go to Wake Forest anyway.

Wake Forest? I don't remember them ever being in contention for him.

It seems that Donald Hopkins will be moving to Kansas to attend Butler CC for this season.
He is then planning to enroll at Texas State in 2013.

Interesting. Did he just really not like it at UH or did he just really want to go to Texas State? I guess maybe he just wants to be closer to home, Texas State is just down the road.
