SMU Athletics ‏@SMUMustangs @SMURedBlueArmy @ad_rickhart We are in the process of scheduling a photo shoot... Hope to be done this week. Thanks & #PonyUp
The complaints here have grown tiresome. June doesn't get to decide, and neither does Rick Hart. Orsini signed us up with Nike, and we get what they give us.
I don't want to start quoting Seinfeld here, but what are we fans of? The team or laundry?
Let's stop complaining so much and support the team, no matter what.

I understand how complaining about the jerseys may seem stupid... But it is just not that simple...
Sure, all SMU Alums and longtime fans will support SMU football no matter what the team wears, but when it comes to gaining a new younger fan base, it can be as simple as havin a cool jersey for someone to randomly like and follow a team... It is not a fashion issue as much as it is a marketing one! A football uniform is a national platform billboard for a division 1 university... It is a visual identity for your school for people who are not familiar with it... I am glad to see some people disappointed and even outraged about the new look! It seems that Nike has never been able to deliver our traditional pony express look in a modern package... Adidas did a much better job... Maybe they can try again next year to get it right...
Nike and Adidas come out with a base set of patterns and make every school pick from those.
It is what it is. Nike is going to let the traditional powers keep what they have and then they use the smaller schools to try and push new ideas to the youth of America and see if they can get a higher percentage of sales to youth teams.
This isn't an SMU problem, it is a Nike problem. They get too aggressive and come up with stupid designs. We all view SMU as a traditional pattern, but Nike does not.
Hopefully, as we move into the Big East, we will have a little more say and get something a little more toned down and traditional. But it is what it is. A giant Meh. could be better, but at least it isn't Wyoming bad.
