Where are the Austin Pony's watching the games?
I usually catch the games at J blacks if they're on TV, but i'm almost always surrounded by UTards.. Is there any official watch sites I should be joining?

I was wondering the same thing. I'll be at all home games and @Baylor but need a spot for away games. Cover 3 is a good spot, although I've heard that's where the Aggies have their watching parties...no thanks. I've watched a game at Dogwood before also.

One year the Thadster put a watch party together at the Tavern (12th and Lamar) Upstairs. It was fairly private area and had mainly SMUites there. Wonder if alum assn. are putting something together?

The Tavern would be a great spot

I live in Houston and the watch party is the same it is in Austin.....it's called FORD STADIUM. You live too close not to come up. I am hooked. Come join the fun on the BLVD. I usally make 5-7 games a year in person .

I attend every home game and most road games. But Tavern sounds like a great place for watching.

I would love yo make every game but my wife isn't too keen on driving from Houston to Dallas every week. Facts of life.
She didn't go to SMU.

The Tavern's cool, but heavy on the UTard fans.
3rd Base (near 5th & Mopac) is extra-large, lots of TVs and food.
As I've seen, it may be easier for different schools to get their own niche, without being isolated from everyone else..

New sports bar/restaurant just south of the river called Draft Pick would be a good one

As per the Baylor game, I'll be watching in Waco.
I'll likely be in Dallas for every home game and in Austin for a number of the road games.
...
Other than that, I have a 63" TV, and all are invited... plus I know the owners of the property that houses Third Base so I can reach out to them at some point, maybe make it our official watch bar.
I'd also be happy to try and dig up my Tavern contacts.
This will be fun, I haven't been in Texas full time for two straight football seasons. But watching in the Marina Pub (and flying in to a handful of games) was certainly fun! And the season before that, I spent most of the season embedded with the team.

I will not be able to travel to any of the out of state games with the possible exception of Tulane. Just let me know if the offer still stands as the season progresses and I will bring beer, bbq or whatever. Did you know that one of the owners of Black's BBQ in Lockhart lives in S. Austin and is an SMU alum? Maybe we can cadge a few sausages or ribs.
