Last time we played them they gave us all we could handle. A very well coached team.
Re: SFA Ranked #24 in FCS Coaches Poll
Played em last year. Air Raid offense with an OC who came from West Texas A&M whose staff basically ripped off Leach at Tech.
Defense is good for FCS. QB threw a ton of picks last year. Good WR and scatbacks. SMU will probably win by a few tds but if the offense gets in it's own way there is an outside chance SFA could make it a game. I see Acker, Smith, & company keeping the big play from happening against this squad.

It means nothing, we'll push them around in the trenches and blow them out.

That OC is now at Houston.

I hope your not implying that they are smaller and weaker than us. They have a very large O-line. There is one player that is bigger than Margus (yes, 6' 9" 320#). There are other big guys on the team too. That doesnt mean better but dont write this team off by any means. SMU should still win but SFA will certainly be a good team that will do their homework when it comes to playing us.

SMU football has not reached a point where this program can afford to take any opponent lightly, especially a Top 25 rated D-1 opponent.
Think App State vs Michigan or any of the other FCS school wins against supposedly superior opponents. I wonder whether TCU has forgotten about that Northwestern State game?

They're playing FCS football for a reason, they have 1 or 2 players of note but games are won in the trenches and we'll own them there. Bo Levi Mitchell isn't quarterbacking this team anymore and our defense should be the best of this era so I don't expect it to be close.

This team isn't good enough to overlook anybody......especially since this our best chance for a win in September.

THIS. We have consistently shown a trend to play up/down to the level of our opponent, which is why games like this one become major traps, especially coming off a win over Baylor (yeah, I know we haven't played it yet, but I'm calling it, damnit!) and with aTm the following week. Should we blow them out? Absolutely. I just hope the team comes in looking to do just that.

I just hope we are ready to play and take care of business in the first half. What I like about these games is hopefully it gives us a chance to get some experience for reserve skill players in the second half and see what they can do.

Anybody remember Appalachian State at Michigan? Jacksonville State at Ole Miss? Maine at Mississippi State?
Beat Baylor and this could be a serious trap game.
