This is not a must win for us. Tulsa and UH are must wins. All we have to do is have some big plays and keep it really competitive for TV audience. And NO major injuries.

1-3 in non-conference and even going undefeated in conference play will not get SMU much respect given how weak CUSA is. The days of just trying to "be competitive" should have ended when we started paying a salary like what JJ is getting.

Baylor does have two injuries: Johnson who is Baylor's best DT and Kaufold who is a starter on OL. Both are expected to play in the first game but neither will be at 100%. It will be one senior and 3 freshman (2 RFS) on the DL. That should give SMU a boost.

Terrance Lloyd (Junior) , Nick Johnson (Senior), Gary Mason Jr (Senior), and either Kaeron Johnson (Senior) or Trevor Clemons-Valdez (RFR). Blackshear (RFR) and Javonte Magee (True Freshman) will play but neither will start.
