Newspaper article on both universities, which lost their QB to NFL. Baylor betting on Florence.
"Likewise, Baylor hopes to reload and keep winning.
It will at least have an experienced hand to replace Griffin. Senior Nick Florence made seven starts in 2009 after RGIII suffered a season-ending knee injury, and he came in again last year when Griffin was hurt late in the first half vs. Texas Tech."

Re: USAToday: Stanford/Baylor ponder life after Luck/Griffi
Baylor's best DT has a career ending back problem and will have surgery this week. For SMU game, Baylor will start a senior DT and the rest will be redshirts and true freshman.
Florence will protect the ball but won't make many spectacular plays but will have plenty of WRs to make big plays. One thing - without great arm strength I think Florence will be challenged on some of the short out and sideline passes in Briles offense. Florence might be prone to giving up INTs on those routes for ball-hawking DBs.

I think it will be a very close game but I think Baylor's home field will be an advantage. DL was already a question mark and took a big hit but Baylor has upgraded LBs, DBs, RBs,WR (may be strongest in the nation). Last issue is OL with Baylor playing two very inexperienced but talented tackles.
I think for Baylor the matchup SMU has to win is DBs against WR. For Baylor it is keeping Line/Gilbert in check. Whoever does it better wins.
Heat could be an issue and I think Baylor's depth, although young, might be a little better. Never count a June Jones team out though.
