Majerus Taking a "Leave of Absence"

In CA being treated for heart disease. "Door remains open" for him to return in one year.

Larry Brown is looking better every day.

The Towel Boys certainly like the choice of LB over the Fat Man.

Cannot imagine what a disaster this would have been for SMU and recruiting if Orsini had persuaded him to take the SMU job. Majerus has had a long history of heart problem and I could never figure out why Orsini had him on his short list. Oh well, just hope he gets well and resumes his coaching duties.

I would have been very happy with the hiring of Majerus during our search because I really wanted a proven head coach instead of gambling on an assistant.

In hindsight, OMG! We dodged a huge bullet there.

Didn’t he use SMU overtures to increase his salary at Saint Louis University? If Orsini hired him we would now be without a head coach. It would be a disaster. Come on, he's morbidly obese so this isn't a surprise. The Larry Brown hire just keeps getting better.

Ditto. Though I would have been OK if Benford were the assistant.
