Saw Clayton Cox and Troy Therian (I think) at the basketball game Saturday night. Clayton and Troy (if that was you): like many PonyFans, I'm thrilled to have you on our football team. The reports I read about you in the PonyFans.com Recruiting Roundup make me really excited about your future on the football field. However, I have a favor to ask:

You are now SMU students. You're Mustangs. No more sitting in the upper level. Get down there in the student section. Bring your roommates, teammates, new friends. Sit -- or better yet, stand -- in the student section and scream until you lose your voices. We're going to be at Ford Stadium in the fall, doing the same for you. Bring the whole damn football team to the basketball games and help make Moody LOUD.

I definitely saw Justin Boren right in the middle of the student section. He was being loud and kept opening that umbrella (i guess when we were 'raining' 3's or something), so I know he was representing for the football team! Fun game last night, the students had a good time, I'd say.

Boren always seems to wear his SMU spirit on his sleeve -- at basketball games, or even at SMU games (whether he was playing, like this year, or as a redshirt last year). He seemed to take particular joy last night in riding that guard with the tattoos (looked like a skinny Chad Elsey, at least facially).
Why wasn't the whole team there with Boren? I believe if he told me to come to a game with him, I'd sure show up.
