Rather have a guy that has been in charge of a program before, if we do go coordinator needs to be someone with a lot playcalling experience and known for recruiting.

What good, established coach wants to come to SMU? I'll be happy to take applications.

That Baylor D looked good. Let's get that coordinator. I'll bet he could grow a mean mustache too.

June drives me crazy to the point of muttering to myself, but I think we need to ride him until it runs its course. On any given day, he can still have this thing looking pretty good. GG made June look bad tonight. thats the honest truth. I think Gilbert was tighter tonight than in the nat champ game vs. USC. I thought he would own it tonight but it was obvious early that he was nervous: perfect spirals in warm ups turned into alot of wounded ducks when the bullets were live.

Your opinion isn't popular, Hoop Fan, but it's accurate. Here's to you.
Gilbert looked very anxious, and has practiced with this offense for what, a month? Practice is one thing, games are another. He has to see DJ and Holman and Thompson and Jeremy J running routes when the bullets are flying. That can be simulated, but not replicated, in practice.

I agree that GG looked pretty bad at times, but he is coming off an injury and hasn't played for quite a while. Let's see how the team responds the next couple of weeks. That's a test for this coaching staff...can you scrape these guys off the floor and get them to play inspired football next week? A convincing win in the home opener is desperately needed right now.
