KIrby Smart turned down SEC Head Coaching offers. He ain't going to SMU. Petrino would be nice, but it's just too soon, I don't see it happening. If Dooley does get canned, I would like him at SMU. Because I don't think he will, I would want Chad Morris or Manny Diaz.

If Turner was gone....maybe. Turner is probably in the final phase of his SMU career, but there is no way he would hire Bobby Petrino. Especially since Petrino is less than 5 months from being involved in such a nationally publicized sex scandal.

Chad Morris and Manny Diaz will likely have better exit options than the SMU job, unfortunately.

Chad Morris and Manny Diaz will likely have better exit options than the SMU job, unfortunately.

I would think Diaz is in line for a bigger job, but who knows.

Derek Dooley would be an interesting idea if he's canned at UT. He used to coach at SMU and has recruited Texas players to Knoxville

You guys are forgetting something. We are SMU free to spend again.

Look how much cash was available to hire a bball coach just from our tiny pool of bball boosters. I know there is booster overlap, but don't you think the football guys will want to one-up the bball guys?

Bball hired a true coaching legend. I expect the football boosters will put forth the cash to do similar for June's replacement.
