Speaking of Reay

Postby DiamondM » Tue Feb 15, 2005 12:02 pm

XTC (or anyone else) any insight into why he's been so glued to the bench the last few games. Injury? Serious dog house? All of a sudden we've got our freshman middle linebacker (Ritter) playing and no Reay. What's up?

Strange since when he came in earlier in the season, he always seemed to be hustling and busting his butt with a lot of energy.

Reay is not blessed with enough talent to play at this level. Good kid and will give you everything he's got but it just is not enough.

Outside of the top 5 or 6 players on the roster, this pretty much defines the program.

Well, he was getting some minutes earlier in the season, and XtC says being in the doghouse is the reason for his bench warming status. Anyway, I don't know how much more "blessed" Ritter is than Reay. Seems like they both play hard and with about as much skill, but Reay is not even taking up the fouls like Ritter is the last couple of games.

Who said he couldn't play Division 1????????? He did a great job on Milsap and provided the energy that the team needed to overcome a 16 point deficit to win the game. I think some of our "talent" evaluators on this board need to go back to school for remedial training!

You might want to tap the brakes on that opinion.

This was one of the bigger pieces of nonsense I've ever seen you post, and your career is both long and distinguished. Where you got the balls to make a statement like this, not once but twice, is beyond me. I was going to rip you over this, but I think now last nights performance can speak for itself. Chris may never be a star here, or he may develop the way Eric has and become that kind of solid player by his senior year. Whichever way it goes, its up to Chris and its directly correlated to how hard he works at it. Chris's work ethic will determine how much he contributes, not some vague "blesssing" that he received from the Basketball Fairy.

I'm sure you were watching last night. Didnt Chris look kind of "blessed" on that three-point play that gave us our first lead in the 2nd half?
