Anyone here remember the game SMU and SFA played two years ago? Their defense is better and offense is better than they were then. SMU did not look good at all against Baylor...they got drubbed. I think SMU will be 0 - 3 after next week with aTm.
I too am surprised so many think big, bad SMU is gonna have its way with the Lumberjacks. Perhaps the Coogs thought the same thing last week.

Actually that was one of 8 wins that year. Junes 1-11 season was the year prior w the w over Tx State

BLM played and the D was worse that year. Not even close to what the 2009 team later became.
I think this game would have been alot closer if we had competed against Baylor. Our team is in no position to take anyone lightly or overlook a game. And I predict they won't. I have some concern that if SFA is able to get any momentum in the first half, our lack of confidence could lead to a close one. And I think SFA is capable of scoring on our defense. I do think that SFA is better than Texas State this year (we'll find out on 9/22). And they are clearly an experienced team. So, not an easy game for a mediocre mid-major (prove me wrong, guys). A loss in this one means no 4th bowl game for our seniors. That is priority #1 for me this year. These guys have given us alot and they deserve to go out winners. Hopefully, they remember what's on the line this Saturday.

SFA (Stephen F. Austin State University) resides in Nacogdoches(Oldest town in Texas), TX.
As I was....sorry.....El Paso, Present-day El Paso, did not become a part of Texas until 1850. Nacogodches is the oldest incorporated township in Texas. Close second is the township of San Augustine.
