Re: SMU/SFA Predictions
Unfortunately they're passing offense given their last game also they score hard and fast. However QB has been sacked twice they can't run 2.6 yards avg. hopefully this will give us good pass defense practice
Re: SMU/SFA Predictions
SMU 38 SFA 27

That's absolutely right, I forget El Paso del Norte is technically Juarez. I'm getting my PhD in southwest history, I failed :p

Re: SMU/SFA Predictions
CFN Says:
Stephen F. Austin (1-0) at SMU (0-1) Sept. 8, 8:00
Here’s The Deal: SMU was no match for Baylor in Sunday’s opener for both schools, losing 59-24 in Waco. It was a humbling reminder of just how far the Mustangs must travel before head coach June Jones reaches his goals on the Hilltop, especially with next year’s move to the Big East fast approaching. Stephen F. Austin doesn’t figure to be the pushover that Jones is seeking in Week 2. The Lumberjacks, an up-and-comer riding a six-game winning streak, ran circles around Division II Southwestern Oklahoma on Friday night.
Why Stephen F. Austin Might Win: The Lumberjacks are going to score. They return 10 starters, spearheaded by prolific passer Brady Attaway and top receivers Cordell Roberson Gralyn Crawford. Plus, the SMU defense was abysmal in Week 1, giving up 613 yards and seven touchdowns to a Baylor offense replacing its three stars.
Why SMU Might Win: An FCS visitor should do wonders for a Mustangs offense that has a couple of dinged players, and is rebuilding up front. SMU features an exciting one-two punch out of the backfield comprised of QB Garrett Gilbert and RB Zach Line. Gilbert, the Texas transfer, ought to settle down now that he has a game under the belt, and Line is a bull who’ll pummel the Stephen F. Austin D.
What To Watch Out For: Things have gone from bad to worse for an already stripped down SMU line, which might be without injured LT Ben Gottschalk. Obviously, everything starts up front regardless of the system or campus location. And if Gilbert doesn’t have a quick trigger, he’ll get introduced to Lumberjacks DE Willie Jefferson, who racked up 15 sacks in 2011.
What Will Happen: The points and seam-busting plays will happen fast on both sidelines, with the home team producing a few more of the fireworks. SMU will need to take this game very seriously or else it’ll start the year 0-2. Line will help guide the Mustangs to break-even with 175 yards and three rushing touchdowns.
CFN Prediction: SMU 45 … Stephen F. Austin 28

This game concerns me a bit. I think we will be ok as long as our defense holds up and Z.Line has his usual good game.

June lost to a 1-AA team in year 6 at Hawaii. I think we'll roll them but wouldn't be surprised if June's sputtering offense keeps this thing much closer than it has to be.

Re: SMU/SFA Predictions
Our horrible D held them scoreless and we won 45-0 last year in Waco. SFA runs the Mike Leach brand of the air raid but you'll beat them. Jefferson is talented but is still learning DE.
Re: SMU/SFA Predictions
June is telling every one to be concerned about the SFA d line as coach speak in case the game is a close win by SMU. June is covering himself in what really should not be a close game in the 5th year of his being at SMU.

I hope that does not happen because the Michigan coach got fired the year that occurred.

I'm not worried at all. I think we will pummel them from the first second

All the June detractors/haters should put on their SFA shirts on Saturday. A loss here will be enough to fire him.

That's what im bankin on... if we lose to SFA it might be enough to convert all the June loyalists and actually put some pressure on him.
