A little perspective

Post by PonyPride »

A safety from Tulane was taken from the field of his team's game against Tulsa after he reportedly stopped breathing on the field briefly and was revived by CPR. Hope he's OK.

Wow, will be praying for him.

I slowed the play down and there was no helmet to helmet contact. It could have been something beyond football.

Hope he is okay.

Wow...perspective indeed! Praying for him!! Many years ago I was at a University of Delaware football game when a UMass player broke his neck (thankfully he survived and was not paralyzed.) The only ambulance that had been at the stadium had left due to another call,so there wasn't an ambulance readily available. I can not even begin to describe the hush and awful feeling in the stadium.

Sad news......prayers to him. I just saw the replay of the pitcher who got hit in the head the other day and suffered a skull injury..., scary.

It was helmet to helmet contact with his own teammate, not the guy he tackled. Freak incident.

Don't know if he's paralyzed or not yet because they have to see how he reacts after surgery. Right now part of his spine and neck are broken - of course he can't move. He will have surgery probably sometime within the next 24 hours and then by 24 hours after that they should know how bad it is. Scary time for the family.

ESPN report said that the vertebrae he injured are ones that deal with respiratory stuff. I know that's obviously not good and accounts for the collapsed lung, but hopefully that means he'll be able to walk again.

Looked like the same exact hit as the one on the Tulane kid to me.
