Let's Beat The Aggies

Post by Rebel10 »

Offense did not score in the 2nd half of the Florida and we have the game film to study what Florida did to stop him. By looking at yesterday I think we have the defense to do it.

Man, I hope you're right. I won't bet on it happening, but how cool would that be?

If we pulled it off the city of Dallas would burn down that night and we would quickly become the Big 12s favorite team

the penetration the aggie front 4 made into the florida backfield really worries me, they were dominating most of that game

Manziel will not beat us, if we spy him, like Gators did in the second half. That o line and those running backs are horses of a different color. Did anyone see Molina truck that FL safety? wow. Their D line was exceptional too. Manziel had all day to throw the ball. They must have had 5 sacks against a quality SEC O line. Zach is going to have problems. Do we have anyone that has the speed to get to the edges? Halftime adjustments were the difference in the game.

Well we may not beat them but we should at least play a competitive game.

ESPN broke down the difference in the FLA defense from first to second half and how they contained Manziel. They had their DE's initially take a step inside, making Manziel read to scramble out. Then, as soon as Manziel had made that read and had begun to move outside, the DE's took a step back and contained Manziel laterally, not allowing him to break to the outside, as he had been able to do in the first half.

FLA can do that sort of thing with their athletic DEs, but as much as I like our DEs, we don't have that kind of athleticism at that position. We will need JG and Stephon Sanders to step up bigtime if we are going to shut Manziel down. Of course, our DBs are goiing to be left in single coverage quite often due to our need to stop the run, so I am hoping that our DBs play lights out next week. Can't be giving up big plays like we did against SFA, because the Aggies aren't going to turn the ball over 10 times.

It should not be a blowout if SMU does not win. You of all people should be agreeing with that.

Playing with the "lights out" might very well help Parks. Good. suggestion

Aggie also had a really impressive wideout, Evans I think. Apparently he is an ex basketball player, but he is very physical at the point of attack. We all know about Swopes too. Those WR's were great blockers too. We've got our work cut out for us.

Aggie will run the ball...much more than most Sumlin Houston teams did.

Manziel is a proto-Favre. He takes chances, makes big plays and big mistakes. He can RUN.

W will only compete if we take care of the ball and have no turnovers.

Evans - A&M wide receiver - is 6'5" and looks fast and athletic

Look for them the run the corner fade route to him against our much shorter CB.

Evans will have a big night.

The a&m game could be ugly.
