The offense

Re: The offense
been waiting for years to get a chance at the Aggies or Horns at Ford and its now here and it does not appear that we are ready. that hurts. agree with those that say we should be stronger than we appear to be this in year 5 of JJ.
Hopefully the Aggies are not as tough as they looked in the first half yesterday, the emotion and home crowd definitely gave them a boost.

They have the advantage in the trenches, that will be enough even if they're not nearly as jacked as they were for the Florida game. This will be another game that shines a light on June's massive recruiting deficiencies.

Wish we had a speed guy like Shawnbrey as a weapon. Zach is great but a change of pace sure would be nice.

Nlemchi?

New guys have to get used to each other. The OL, I suspect, won't really gel until mid-season, and I still think that's true. Hopefully they're healthy enough that we can roll some C-USA teams. I always thought we'd go 1-3 in non-conference games, and still do, but the OL is the key to this offense, just like every other offense. As the OL grows, so grows the offense.

Re: The offense
I have a lot of hope Niemchi will be a good back but he doesn't have a reputation of being a "speed back" at this level. I see a lot of people say that but I don't think that is accurate.

Re: The offense
Hasn't he been injured each of the last 2 years which given the lack of physical practicing, could indicate a durability issue.........

You wonder if Jared W will ever see the field again? He had some promise.

which is why most of us are frustrated with this O, should be plug and play like most teams, too much timing and synching has to click..
Re: The offense
what sucks about being patient for all these parts to sync up is that Baylor, TCU, and A&M are all early on in the year. If it's true that we do get our offense going, it would be nice to see what we could have done against these teams. Instead, the huge disparity in recruiting is going to be obvious while we wait for our offense to "click."

Zach is awesome, but the problem is that our opponents will know that he IS our threat and I'm afraid they will shut him down quickly. He needs help and support from the OL, QB & receivers.

Re: The offense
Zach shredded the Aggie defense last year until they made adjustments; they will most likley key on him next week

given that he is already running at practice, I think there's a great chance he's back by next year.

Argue w/me all you want but the responsibility of getting this team ready (and recruiting for the team) is on JJ's shoulders and I think we are seeing how important this job is to him. He checked out some time ago!
(used abandoned for lack of a better word)
You know if the WRs caught those passes that they dropped, GG might not look so bad. When they finally can catch the ball and we still aren't moving it, than I will be concerned about GG. Way too early, however, to throw in the towel on him, IMHO!

+1. GG is definately an upgrade - i see him not fixing on a spefic reciever, i.e., going through his progression - imagine what he could have done with Sanders, AR, ... (and a decent OL).
