I understand he came in out of shape and hasn't played in a year or so, but has he even seen the field yet? Is he in Palcic's dog house? His getting dumped down the depth chart after being named a starter doesn't make any sense to me, out of shape or not. Is he injured? Is he suiting up? Hoping to get a redshirt year? I can't tell watching on TV. With as much inexperience/youth as we have on this OL don't you think we could use all the beef we can get?
It all seems rather odd. Anyone have any real knowledge on what's going on with him?

Ojai, I think we can trust the coaches to put the best players on the field. I can only think he isn't ready yet and we can't chance some devastating sacks based on hope that he is better. He's got to prove himself at practice.

Re: Stavion Lowe?
As I recall he had a hamstring issue before the season as well as general conditioning.

Big time out of shape, has not played for more than a year, over weight, new offensive scheme coupled with a hamstring injury has totally hampered his ability to play. Experience wise he is in the same boat as a red shirt frosh as he did not play at LSU and the level of competition at his first JC was nothing special. Not sure this kid is ever going to see much of the field this year.

He was never named a starter. Yes he took a few snaps with the 1's during camp, but so did a number of other kids.

Still doesn't make any sense. Wouldn't you at least give him some garbage time? Unless too injured. Has he been suiting up for games?
Re: Stavion Lowe?
Was told he would be a total liability for any QB if he was put into game. As posted not ready yet for all the reasons already posted.

Re: Stavion Lowe?
Lowe's issue right now isn't game experience, it is fitness and practice time. Everything they are doing right now is with an aim to get him ready to compete for a starting spot during the Bye week.

Great. Thanks, JasonB. Finally some real detail. Appreciate it.JasonB wrote:Lowe's issue right now isn't game experience, it is fitness and practice time. Everything they are doing right now is with an aim to get him ready to compete for a starting spot during the Bye week.
My point was that Seaver Myers even played a little in the BU game having been in the offense the same amount of time. I guess the reason was his fitness was better. But, I'm just thinking at least a snap or two - maybe don't want him to get hurt thinking he has bigger upside this year in conference play. (Having said that, Myers DID end up getting hurt anyway but not due to lack of fitness).
