That 28-7 loss to Bama was the worst beating I had ever seen a good pre-DP SMU team take. Bama was just more physical.

I got to the game at half time that year as i stopped off on my way out west and it was already 21-0.....wasted trip for me.

How about we show a list of June Jones teams that played SEC schools?.....I know of only one game vs. Georgia. We know how that turned out.

No sense blaming June for that. Hawaii coming from the WAC had no shot against a legitimate top 10 team - it was a feat just to get Hawaii there. Besides, word is that Georgia was lobbying to play in the Rose Bowl that year against the USC team that hammered Illinois. That would have been two pretty good games - USC-UGA and Hawaii-Illinois.

I was at all those Arky games in the 90s - the rainy one in the Cotton Bowl was amazing.

I just felt its just relevant and maybe more so than comparing old ex-SMU teams. A team coached by June is a direct hit with his coaching style and his offense is my point. I understand the Hawaii situation as it was a perfect storm that will never happen again.

That 97 game against Arkansas in Shreveport was the last game my Father and I ever attended together. It was a wonderful trip and a great win.
