After our 3rd string QB (who i expected to redshirt) got credited with a tackle on the kicking team, I noticed that SMU had a huge # of players with the same number.
I can understand a QB who should never see the field, but we had Dieter on offense playing and a guy with the same number on defense.

Re: Duplicate #s on Players - normal?
Very normal. Every team has players with duplicate numbers. One team (I think it was Stephen F. Austin) had THREE players wearing No. 5. The rules dictate that players can wear the same number as long as they're never on the field at the same time, so an offensive player, a defensive player and occasionally a special teams-only player will share a number.

I call that laziness
Re: Duplicate #s on Players - normal?
With 115 players on a team(counting walkons) and numbers only going to 99 you will have duplicate numbers. Nothing lazy about the duplicate number issue. All teams have to do it.
