SMU Might Be Headed For A Slow Painful Demise
I think June could do well enough to barely get to a bowl which will be enough for the June to the death supporters to hang their hat on. I think one even June support poster said that he does not see how a coaching change could help. If June's staff keeps recruiting the way they currently are and the teams keeps playing like they currently are, when SMU does get a new coach it will take him 2 or 3 years minimum to recruit over the under the radar recruited players we have now and are bringing aboard. It's a mess. SMU loses it's entire D line next year, 3 of the 4 starting LB's, and on. I know the June to the death supporters will try to deflect the blame to others but it might be a slow painful death if something is not done. Again we should be competitive enough in CUSA to make it to a bowl game but after that it will be tough. If we do not make it to a bowl game it will only be worse.

JJ is just going to sit back collect his moolah retire after contract and move back to Hawaii. We got duped into extending his contract. I feel bad for the poor bastard who will essentially take over an FCS team to compete against BCS schools in 2014

If he left at the end of the year he could leave the problems to the next guy and then preserve his "Genius Status"-and say "Told ya so"

True so essentially we are screwed either way...
Re: SMU Might Be Headed For A Slow Painful Demise
He could have REALLY done that last year...this year will not be as successful it appears.

Like he did at Hawaii?

If he is here after the end of this season watch for a dramatic drop in MC contributions and season ticket sales.

Season Ticket sales will drop because A&M and TCU fans won't renew their Season Tickets. Where are we on Season Tickets-have we even reached the level we had the first year Ford opened?

Like Ponyscott said he tried to do that last year and failed. Now the chickens have come home to roost and he has been exposed. If we made a bowl game this year he could kind of do that because next year the entire schedule will be no cupcakes and SMU will probably not go to a bowl game due to the current staff's poor recruiting and coaching. It's a mess either way because if June stay and we get another under the radar type recruiting class then that's more players the next coach is going to have to sift through and recruit over. It is a quagmire of a mess.

Did you know Kansas offered him as well? And yes we know he is washed up....on a shoreline in Hawaii......with millions from SMU.
Who would offer now? The Colorado and Arkansas jobs could be open soon be I doubt they offer.

No they didn't. Steinberg said they were part of "others interested." No offer except ASU and it only took a few hours for them to wise up. You are correct, he's going back to Hawaii with a few SMU bucks.
