I'm a lifelong Aggie and Methodist, and have always been an SMU supporter/sympathizer. I was watching a replay of the game from this weekend and noticed that SMU has a Canadian flag sticker on the back of their helmets, and was intrigued. Can anone tell me the significance?

Re: Canadian flag on helmets
I think you may have this confused for the red outline of the State of Texas with a red mustang within the border...?
We need to rebrand SMU football to attract more quality DFW and Texas recruits/fans and I would have that logo (or a larger/bolder version) on the front of the Jersey, or at least somewhere on the uniform/helmet in a much more visible location. Play up the 'Texas' and possibly try to find a way to incorporate the the 'Big D' aspect somehow. Times are changing and we're being left behind...

The red outline of the state of Texas is on the left side of the helmet and the Canadian flag is on the right right side.

Re: Canadian flag on helmets
Never mind. I thought it was the Canadian flag too. Thanks for clarifying.

I thought it was a Canadian flag at the Baylor game also, but realized what it was when I saw the big one on campus. It's not a good design.
